There are several dozen car models in the world that are produced in limited editions and designed for a very narrow target audience - rich collectors. Usually these cars are produced by large manufacturers with a worldwide reputation. But there are exceptions, when an exclusive copy comes off the assembly line of a small company.
Below are the models that start at 9 million euros:
Rolls-Royce Droptail
The price leader for the end of 2023 is the Rolls-Royce Droptail in the limited edition La Rose Noire. The car was unveiled at the end of last summer. It was equipped with a 6.75-litre BMW N74 12-cylinder V-block petrol engine with double supercharging. For the interior, the manufacturer used natural black sycamore wood from France. The approximate price of the car is over 29 million Euros.
Rolls-Royce Boat Tail
The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail topped the list of most expensive cars for a long time until it was replaced by the Droptail La Rose Noire. The car was produced in late spring 2021. It was partly based on the Rolls-Royce Phantom platform. Under the bonnet is a 563 bhp BMW N74 engine with a twin-supercharger system. Costs start at 27 million euros.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire
In 2019, Bugatti introduced the La Voiture Noire, a model based on the Chiron. Its body was made of carbon fibre and had an original design with elongated front and rear. The car was equipped with an engine from the Chiron and a 7-speed automatic transmission with four-wheel drive. In general, the chassis and transmission settings were aimed at a higher level of comfort. Anyone willing to pay 17.2 million euros could become the owner of La Voiture Noire.
Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta
This car made its debut in 2017. The development of this model was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the founder of Pagani. The car had an original open body. It was equipped with a Mercedes-Benz engine with a capacity of 7.3 litres, developing 800 hp and a torque of 850 N*m. Only 3 cars were produced, two of which were given to customers and one remained in the personal collection of the owner of Pagani. The price of the car at the time of its launch was 16.3 million Jervo. Today its value will be considerably higher. The HP Barchetta modification marked the end of the Zonda model.
SP Automotive Chaos
In 2020 information appeared about the Chaos model from the little known Greek company Spyros Panopoulos Automotive. The car with a carbon fibre body was equipped with a supercharged engine with dry sump lubrication, capable of developing between 2,000 and 3,000 bhp depending on the tuning. A total of 20 examples of the car were to be produced, with prices ranging from €5.5 million to €12.4 million - some of the cars being paid for by customers. Deliveries have not started since the beginning of 2024.
Rolls-Royce Sweptail
In 2017, Rolls-Royce introduced the new Sweptail model, which is based on the Phantom in a single copy. The car was assembled by hand over a period of 4 years. Under the bonnet of the car there is a 12-cylinder engine with an output of 453 bhp, the transmission includes an 8-speed automatic gearbox ZF. The car cost the customer about 12.5 million euros. It is worth noting that the price of the Sweptail increased over time due to its uniqueness.
Bugatti Chiron Profilée
Another modification of the Bugatti Chiron - Profilée, produced in late 2022 on the basis of the Chiron Pur Sport, has made it into the top ten of the most expensive cars. The car features different bodywork, gearbox and suspension settings. It will have a top speed of 380 km/h. The original plan was to collect 30 cars, but the project was soon abandoned when all the orders for the limited edition Chiron were filled. Only one car was produced, which was sold at RM Sotheby's in early 2023 for almost 10 million euros.
Bugatti Centodieci
In 2022, Bugatti released a limited edition Centodieci, built on the Chiron chassis and styled after the EB110 model produced in the 1990s. Engine power is 1.6 thousand horsepower, acceleration from standstill to 300 km/h takes only 13.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 380 km/h. The company produced 10 copies of the Centodieci, and despite the price of around 8.7 million euros, all the cars were sold out almost immediately after the presentation.
777 Hypercar
In mid-2023, the small Italian company 777 Motors, based in Monza, unveiled the first prototype of the 777 Hypercar. In fact, the project was developed by a group of third-party companies, as 777 Motors has no experience in building cars. The car is designed for LMP1 racing and is not intended for public road use. The powertrain includes a 730bhp petrol engine from Gibson Technology and can accelerate the car to 370km/h. Sales are expected to begin in 2025 at a minimum price of €7.2 million, subject to change in either direction.
Pagani Huayra Codalunga
In 2022, Pagani will introduce a limited edition Huayra Codalunga. The car's body has a design reminiscent of a racing Porsche 917 from the 1960s. The rather strange choice of prototype is dictated by Pagani's founder's love of the Porsche 917 model. The car was produced in an edition of 5 and sold at a price of around 7.3 million euros. The engine develops a power of 829 bhp and works in tandem with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
It should be noted that Cypriots also like to drive expensive and exclusive cars.
According to the Statistical Service, last year Cypriots bought five new Rolls Royces, which belong to the super-luxury category. In addition, 33 Maseratis were registered on the island, of which 27 were new and six used. The list of super-luxury cars also included 14 Bentley cars (five new and nine used), eight new Ferrari cars and nine used Tesla cars. In addition, 9 Lamborghini, 171 Porsche, 3 McLaren and 37 Jaguar cars were imported into Cyprus.
