The GLC lineup has received a major update — Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the crossover and coupe version of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4Matic+. The manufacturer is focusing on a combination of aggressive design, modern hybrid technologies, and high performance.
AMG Design with a Focus on Dynamics
The exterior of the new model is executed in AMG’s signature styling. The front end stands out with a massive Panamericana grille, a wide bumper, and large air intakes that emphasize the model’s sporty potential. The coupe version features a more sloping roofline, giving the silhouette a more dynamic appearance.
The interior is designed in the spirit of modern AMG models. Inside, there are sport seats upholstered in black leather with AMG logos and contrasting stitching. The sport steering wheel is equipped with touch controls, while decorative carbon inserts enhance the premium feel. The digital instrument panel and MBUX multimedia system support personalized display settings, including sports telemetry.
Inline Six-Cylinder Turbo Engine and Mild Hybrid
Under the hood is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder gasoline turbo engine. It produces 443 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, and with the AMG Driver’s Package it increases to 270 km/h.
The engine is complemented by a 48-volt starter-generator, which provides brief electric assistance during acceleration and improves overall powertrain efficiency. Combined with the nine-speed AMG Speedshift TCT automatic transmission, the vehicle delivers fast and smooth gear changes. Drivers can select various driving modes, including Sport+ for maximum throttle response.

All-Wheel Drive and Handling
The 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system is included as standard equipment. It adaptively distributes torque between the axles depending on road conditions and driving style. This ensures stability at high speeds and confident grip in corners.
Engineers have also retuned the suspension and steering to achieve more precise feedback. Combined with a powerful braking system, this allows the new GLC 53 to compete with other sporty SUVs in the premium segment.
Sales Prospects and Market Positioning
The segment of sporty crossovers with more than 400 hp continues to grow in Europe and globally. Buyers are increasingly choosing versatile models capable of combining everyday comfort with sports car dynamics.
Official sales start dates and pricing for the Mercedes-AMG GLC 53 4Matic+ will be announced later. The new model is expected to take an important place in the AMG lineup and strengthen the brand’s position in the high-performance SUV category.
