Nicosia Municipality Offers Electric Vehicle Drivers a 20% Parking Discount

The Municipality of Nicosia has announced an important new initiative for owners of eco-friendly transport. Now all electric vehicle owners will be able to receive a 20% discount on the payment of a six-month parking subscription in all organized municipal parking facilities in the city. This measure is aimed at supporting sustainable mobility, reducing emission levels, and encouraging the transition to environmentally friendly modes of transport.

Subscription cost and discount conditions

Taking into account the provided benefit, the parking price will be 216 euros. The subscription will be valid for 6 months from the moment of activation. The exception is the municipal parking at the GSP stadium, where the cost of a similar subscription with the discount applied will be 288 euros. The authorities emphasize that the card applies only to one selected parking facility, which must be specified when submitting the application.

The introduction of such a discount corresponds to a pan-European trend of supporting electric transport. In recent years, the infrastructure of charging stations has been actively developing in the capital of Cyprus, the number of electric vehicles on the roads has been increasing, and sustainable urban transport programs aimed at reducing congestion in the city center and improving air quality have been implemented.

How to obtain a parking card

To receive the discounted subscription, electric vehicle owners need to send a copy of the vehicle registration certificate to the email address ParkingServices@nicosia.org.cy, as well as specify the municipal parking facility they plan to use. After verification of the documents, the applicant will receive a payment notification. It can be paid either at municipal cashier offices or online.

After payment confirmation, municipal services will issue the parking card and notify the owner when the document is ready for collection. Such a simplified application process makes the benefit accessible and convenient for residents, while simultaneously encouraging the development of eco-friendly transport and modern urban space.
