Chinese automaker Geely is preparing to enter the Cyprus market in 2026. The company has signed a strategic agreement with KKS Mobility Ltd, led by automotive executive Charalambos Pilakoutas. The agreement was signed in Amsterdam on 3 September 2026. On behalf of Geely, the document was signed by Aiden He, CEO of Geely Brand Europe and Vice President of Strategy and Product at Geely Auto Europe. KKS Mobility was represented by its CEO, Charalambos Pilakoutas.
KKS Mobility will become the importer and distributor of Geely vehicles in Cyprus. The partnership is part of the Chinese manufacturer’s international expansion and its growing presence in Southern Europe. According to Aiden He, entering Cyprus will be an important milestone in Geely’s development in the region. The company intends to offer local buyers vehicles with electric and hybrid powertrains, modern technologies and advanced safety systems. For Geely, this is another step in expanding its European network. In September 2026, the company also announced further development of its presence in other European markets.
Which Geely cars will be available in Cyprus
At the first stage, Geely plans to introduce three electrified models to Cyprus:
- Geely E5 — a fully electric mid-size SUV;
- Geely E2 — a compact fully electric hatchback;
- Geely Starray EM-i — a plug-in hybrid with an extended driving range.
Thus, the new brand is immediately focusing on an electrified model line-up rather than traditional petrol cars. The Geely E5 is built on the global GEA electric architecture, the E2 is primarily designed for urban driving, while the Starray EM-i combines the ability to handle everyday journeys on electric power with longer-distance travel thanks to its hybrid system.
The company is also placing particular emphasis on digital technologies, connected services and safety systems. In particular, in September 2026 the Geely E2 received five-star safety ratings under the new 2026 Euro NCAP and ANCAP protocols.
Who will sell and service Geely cars in Cyprus
The partnership will combine Geely’s technology with KKS Mobility’s experience in the Cyprus automotive market. The company’s activities will include not only vehicle sales, but also after-sales service. According to Pilakoutas, the agreement represents an important stage in the development of KKS Mobility’s business. The company plans to offer Cyprus drivers vehicles featuring modern technology, a high level of safety, contemporary design and competitive pricing.
KKS Mobility is relying on its accumulated experience in automotive retail and servicing. This is particularly important for a new brand entering a small market: buyers need not only the cars themselves, but also accessible service infrastructure. Geely, in turn, sees the partnership as an opportunity to adapt its international strategy to the specific characteristics of the local market.
Geely is expanding rapidly in the global market
Geely’s entry into Cyprus comes amid rapid growth at Geely Auto. In 2025, the group sold 3,024,567 vehicles, increasing sales by 39% year on year and exceeding its annual target of 3 million vehicles. The new-energy vehicle segment is growing especially quickly. In 2025, sales of such vehicles reached 1,687,767 units, up 90% compared with 2024.
Geely Auto, headquartered in Hangzhou, develops and manufactures passenger vehicles under the Geely, Lynk & Co and Zeekr brands and is part of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. The company operates research and production centres in China, Europe and other international regions. Today, the group’s technology strategy includes hybrid powertrains, fully electric platforms, intelligent connectivity systems and automated driving technologies.
Geely’s arrival in Cyprus will strengthen competition in the local electric vehicle and hybrid market. The first three models will allow the brand to cover several popular segments from the outset — from a compact city car to an electric SUV and a plug-in hybrid.
