Cyprus Police have announced that 48 road sections across the island have been identified as high-risk locations where serious and fatal traffic accidents occur most frequently. Enhanced safety measures will now be implemented on these stretches, including increased police patrols and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations.

How Were the High-Risk Areas Identified?

Police officers analyzed accident data from 2023 to 2025. The study identified locations with the highest number of collisions, and each of these sections has been designated as a “high-risk zone.” As a result, patrols will be deployed more frequently, and monitoring of traffic rule compliance will be intensified.

In addition, all relevant authorities have been informed of the findings so that road repairs or infrastructure upgrades can be carried out where necessary. Police are urging drivers to remain vigilant, obey traffic laws, and remember their personal responsibility for road safety.
